A few years ago, I heard a woman named Kim Meeder on Focus on the Family. She built a ranch for abused and abandoned horses. Driven by her love for God, humans, and horses, she found that abused children can be paired with abused horses and strong emotional bonds are formed. Through God's goodness, the horse and the child begin to emotionally heal. I've followed her stories and the ranch since the first time I heard her speak.
