Review of On the Loose by Jenny B. Jones

On the Loose is the second book in the Katie Parker series. Katie is a foster child that is in desperate need of love, but has a hard time letting anyone know it.

Millie and James Scott are her foster parents and they are loving and kind, everything she needs. They also just happen to pastor one of the local churches. Katie is having a hard time reconciling the God that they teach her about with the God that seems to allow disaster to happen.

That brings me to Maxine - she's Katie's foster grandmother. She's no ordinary grandmother, Maxine is probably the coolest grandmother of all time. She's hilarious and bold. A reader never knows what's about to happen if Maxine is in the vicinity.

This story is laugh-out-loud funny, but it's just as touching as it is funny. It's a look inside a girl's heart where walls of protection have been built. These walls keep out the hurt, but the walls also are meant to keep out God. One brick at a time, the walls begin to come down.

The ending is so sweet, it just made my heart melt. This would be a fantastic movie -- one of those movies that I would watch over and over and never tire of it.
